NITI AAYOG/ NGO DARPAN REGISTRATION
Niti Aayog/ Ngo Darpan is the centralized platform by government of India to connect
various non-government organizations/ voluntary organizations (Trust, Society, Section
8 Company or Any other organization registered under any law) with different ministries,
departments and government bodies for grant purpose. This registration is mandatory
for all the ngo’s/vo’s if they want government grants and participate in the formation of
social welfare schemes or activities.
The NGO DARPAN was earlier maintained by erstwhile Planning Commission, which
has been replaced by the NITI Aayog w.e.f. 1st January, 2015. In order to transact
business with line Ministries/ Departments, an NGO has to first sign-up on the ngo
darpan portal to obtain a Unique Identity Number (UIN) by furnishing the required
details like registration number of the organization, PAN of the organization, PAN and
Aadhaar details of the office bearers/trustees etc.
As of now, more than one (1) lakh NGO’s/ VO’s and fifty-three (53) department are
listed in NGO Darpan Portal.
